Destination - Dubbo

The 12th Rural Critical Care Conference will be held in Dubbo, NSW. Dubbo is located in the heart of the Central West and is on the intersection of major routes for road, rail and air transport. A thriving regional city, Dubbo services a huge geographical area - one-third of NSW. Continual growth has seen the City’s population exceed 41,000. Dubbo means "red earth" in the Wiradjuri language.

Dubbo combines a rich pastoral history with great food and wine, expansive parklands, museums, galleries, art and crafts, and the famous Taronga Western Plains Zoo. It is also surrounded by several villages, including Brocklehurst, Ballimore, Wongarbon, Elong Elong, Toongi and Eumungerie.

The weather is unique with great average maximum temperatures of 16 to 31.2 degrees Celsius - perfect for recreational activities like fishing, shopping, barbecues, camping and alfresco dining.

It is just an hour’s flight from Sydney or a scenic five-hour drive from the coast that takes you through breath-taking mountains, valleys and sprawling plains. Taking the Dubbo XPT, which has an on-board café, means you can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.

The Conference will take place at Dubbo RSL Resort Conference Centre, located in the heart of the CBD. The Club has its own Motel, a 342 tiered seat Conference Centre / Theatrette, an Aquatic Centre, which has the only 25m, 8 lane indoor heated pool in Dubbo.

By Air: Dubbo Airport is serviced by Qantaslink and Regional Express Airlines. Dubbo is just over an hour's flight from Sydney. Regional Express also fly between Dubbo and Broken Hill.
