About the Clinical Nurse Consultants for Rural Emergency Critical Care Services NSW

The CNCs are a state-wide group dedicated to providing a forum for clinicians working in rural and remote NSW to share and discuss initiatives and innovations in emergency and critical care practice. The Conference aims to provide equitable opportunity for clinicians from pre-hospital, hospital, transport and retrieval settings to share experiences in providing critical care services to a diverse population.

The Conference is held in a different region each year. The first Rural Critical Care Conference took place in Dubbo in 2001 and attracted 180 delegates. Since then the Conference has taken place in Albury, Hunter Valley, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Broken Hill, Ballina, Batemans Bay, Wagga Wagga, Orange and Port Macquarie, where in 2011 over 200 delegates from both hospital and pre-hospital settings participated.
